East Coast Starz is a fashion and modeling event that celebrates the unique qualities in every girl that makes them a star! Join us MAY 16-17, 2-15 for Take 9! Our Spring/Summer Show and get your fashionista on the glowing pink runway! The event will be held at the beautiful Hanover Marriott in Whippany, New Jersey. The weekend will bring girls together from across the country to take the STARZ CHALLENGE as a team to win couture, photo shoots, pink Hummer limo trips and life changing opportunities!
East Coast Starz allows children between the ages of 2-17 to discover and bring out their inner star qualities so they can shine brighter on the outside. We build up the self-confidence in children and pave their road to success. We bring in top NYC agents, managers and scouts to sign new talent and start careers. We invite designers and stars to talk to the girls, inspiring them that dreams can come true. We believe that the runway builds confidence, and strengthens a child’s self-esteem in her most important formative years. Additionally, our program provides a venue for girls to share common interests and lifelong friendships.

Life’s a Stage… You be the Star!
Each participant that signs up will be presented a weekend they will never forget filled with fashion, fun and friendships! Our program unites girls together that share the same common interests and creates lifelong friendships. At Take 9! we will be building teams of girls grouped together by age that will need to come together to try to win the STARZ CHALLENGE that will capture them the titles of the Ultimate Fashionistas and award them all gorgeous fashion inspired crowns, couture clothing, styling, photo shoots and send them off on an adventure in New York to their fashion destination in a giant PINK Hummer Limo! Over the course of the weekend all participants will take part in team building activities and a variety of different photo shoots and workshops. We will also host one of our signature soirees on Saturday night for all girls to party and have fun!
Dream BIG at East Coast Starz!
We are not a modeling agency or talent management firm. We work with a variety of modeling agencies, managers, photographers, stores and designers to place the participants who come to Starz to work with them if they have the desire to become involved in the industry. We give participants modeling and industry opportunities. We have so many success stories of children who have attended our events and have gone on to walk the New York runways, shoot with famous photographers, book commercials, featured in National print campaigns and even star on Broadway! We love help making the dreams come true of our Starz if we can and fight for every chance that comes our way to make that happen. We have connected them with major New York agencies and managers creating working models and actresses. You just never know where our glowing pink runway will take you. The sky is the limit!
Who Can Participate?
We are looking for girls ages 2-17 yrs. who love fashion, making friends and are interested in participating in runway and print modeling. There is no experience necessary to come to Starz and participate. This is a beginner friendly event where we walk you through and help you prepare to have a great experience! All girls who come to Starz will enjoy fun team building activities, have a photo shoot and get to keep the images from one of our talented photographers, walk in two runway shows, attend our fabulous party with their new friends, take home a couture outfit from one of sponsors, take home a swag bag stuffed for a movie star and be recognized on stage and awarded a rhinestone star tiara for their achievements! EVERYONE is a winner at East Coast Starz! We believe the runway builds self-confidence! In addition all interested girls will be invited to meet and greet with a variety of reputable managers and agencies for placement in New York. These are private one on one meet and greets. As Starz continues to grow we have been fortunate enough to work with more agencies and managers that are leaders in the industry. We work with Shirley Grant, Funny Face Today, CP Talent, Generation, Click, Prestige and many other great companies!

All girls participating will be placed on a team to take our challenge together. AGE AS OF 5/15/15.
CALLING ALL FASHIONISTAS!
Teams will be broken down as follows:
2 yrs. , 3 yrs., 4 yrs., 5 yrs., 6 yrs. , 7 yrs. , 8 yrs. , 9 yrs., 10 yrs., 11 yrs. , 12 yrs. , 13/14 yrs., 15-17 yrs.
Calling All Fashionistas! There are two ways to register for this event and space is limited. You can register with a team of eight other girls that will be within the same age group as of May 15, 2015. If you register this way you will select a team captain who will register the whole team on one application and we will contact you for additional information. The captain will need your full name, DOB, and email address. The second way to enter is by filling out the application for yourself and we will place you on an existing team. There will be a spot for a friend request if you know someone else attending that you trying to connect with. It is not necessary to know anyone coming into this event. You will meet your team online and chat before the event and get to know your team and plan together. There are so many great families that attend East Coast Starz and it’s a great way to meet some new people.
We will be grouping girls together to form teams of 10 girls per team by age. Together these 10 models will take the STARZ CHALLENGE!
What’s Your Fashion Destination? Each team will be pulled a different destination from around the world at random on video and posted for to see on January 2, 2015.
Each participant will model their outfit based on their destination and walk down the Starz Runway and the whole team will do a group finale together. Each model will be given a score based on creativity, personal style and modeling potential by industry professionals. These scores from each model will be averaged together and present a team average as the groups final score. Your groups score will be announced at awards but individual scores will never be released.
Each model will be asked to fill out an emcee card asking: How did your destination inspire your fashion choice for your outfit? With that being said we are looking for each runway outfit to reflect your fashion destination with either exact current styles, vintage styles gone modern, colors/places in your destination that inspire a look etc. We are NOT looking for costumes. Example; if you are on team Dubai the famous “Miracle Garden” of flowers has inspired you… use that to base your outfit around. Find styles that are modern that reflect your destination.
Your team captain will be given the emcee sheet prior to the event so Mr. Tim Whitmer will accurately describe your outfit and inspiration for your choice. You may also choose your own music for your group to walk to and bring it on CD to the event. Suggested length is 10 minutes.
Each model will be given an outfit from one of our sponsors that is selected especially for them and their team! They will wear this outfit for their personal photo shoot shot by one of our amazing Starz Photographers! The photographer will select the model’s best photo for judging. Each team member’s photo will be scored by a panel of industry professionals. Scoring will be based on photogenic appeal and modeling potential. These scores from each model will be averaged together and present a team average as the groups final score. Your groups score will be announced at awards but individual scores will never be released. All Live Photogenic Photos are submitted to New York agencies and managers for placement opportunities.
GROUP EDITORIAL PHOTO
Your team will shoot a group fashion editorial! Models will wear their sponsor outfit for this group shot. The photographer will choose your team’s best photo to submit for judging by industry professionals. Scoring will be based on photogenic appeal and modeling potential. Your group score will be announced at awards. Group photos will be submitted to a variety of National Fashion Magazines for publication.
SPONSOR RUNWAY SHOWCASE FINALE
Each team will put on runway show for their team’s sponsor! The team will hit the glowing pink runway individually and all together at the end as a group finale! The group finale walk will be judged by industry professionals. Scoring will be based on personality, group appeal and modeling potential. Your team’s group score will be announced at awards.

Every participant and team will be recognized at the Awards Ceremony because everyone is a winner at Starz! We will announce the Top 3 Scoring Teams from each show at their awards ceremony.
EVERY PARTICIPANT WILL TAKE HOME AN OUTFIT, RHINESTONE STAR TIARA AND SWAG BAG STUFFED FOR A STAR!
OVERALL ULTIMATE FASHIONISTAS! The team with the highest combine score will win the Starz Challenge! The team will be called up on stage together and they will be presented with their gorgeous rhinestone crowns and swag bags! They will win the famous NEW YORK PINK HUMMER LIMO TRIP! The team will be awarded this special trip to take together. The winning team will be styled and gifted a couture outfit, taken to lunch, have a photo shoot and receive the images and go on a wild adventure in a pink Hummer limo they will never forget!

2nd Place Team Mega Starz The team with the next highest score will be announced the Mega Starz! They will take home a rhinestone star tiara, swag bag and additional gifts from our sponsors! AWARDED TO ONE TEAM IN EACH SHOW!

HOST HOTEL: The beautiful Hanover Marriott located at 1401 Route 10 East in Whippany, New Jersey 07981 is our event venue for Take 8! We have secured a group rate of $105 per night. It is strongly encouraged for participants to stay at the host venue. Tell them you are with East Coast Starz to get the group rate (973) 538-8811.
RUNWAY SHOW TICKETS: Each participant will be given one parent pass for entry into the Grand Ballroom on Sunday. Additional adult tickets will be $20 in advance and children 2-12 yrs. will be $10 in advance.
WHAT TO BRING: Each participant should bring their RUNWAY outfit inspired by their team’s destination, bag of assorted shoes and printed 8-10″ photos to hand in to agency/manager meet and greets if you are interested.

Deposits for this event are non-refundable and non-transferable as they are used to secure prizes and event expenses for this show. You will be asked to make a second payment towards your balance as we get closer to the event (approximate half way mark) and a final payment at registration Take 9! weekend. You can also pay your participation fee in full if you wish. If you pay in full and are unable to attend you will only forfeit your $100 deposit and be able to transfer the remaining balance to another event. Final balances will be due at registration the weekend of the event.
